Modern Wound Care Management in Cut Nyak Dhien Langsa General Hospital
The concept of moist-based wound care has long been known in the world, because it has advantages such as speeding up the reepitalization, retaining moisture, reducing infection, the moist wound bed can stimulate spending growth factors which accelerate the wound healing process. This research aims to produce modern wound care management protocols that will be run on Cut Nyak Dien Langsa General Hospital (RSUCND), and can be a guide to wound care by nurses in RSUCND. Design used in this study was action research with one cycle. Number of participants involved was 12 people assigned by purposive sampling method. Method of data collection was focus group discussion, self-report (nurses knowledge questionnaire of modern wound care and caring, nurse and patient satisfaction), and observation (checklist ). Data collection was conducted since April 26 until September 28 2013. The data obtained were analyzed by applying wilcoxon analysis. The test result conducted between the pre and post show significant changes. Recommendation that can be given based on the results of this study is that the composed SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) can be run by RSUCND and this research can be continued to the next cycle.
